Inviting ground floor food hall will bring the community and residents into the building . Event space will cater to the building tenants and will be made available to community organizations at reduced rates or free of charge. Digital skills training classes that will include a combination of non-profit and for-profit organizations with scholarships made available to local residents Civic Hall provides a central location for social entrepreneurs, change-makers, government employees, academics, journalists, and artists to share knowledge, build tools, and solve public interest problems together. 

Step Up Office Space will allow for young companies that have graduated from Civic Hall, incubators, or co-working space to have private flexible offices with shared services and amenities. Traditional Office Space will allow for established companies to also be part of the community and support the growth and success of the other individuals and organizations within the building.

CIVIC HALL

Civic Hall provides a central location for technology, thought and entrepreneurship where change-makers, government employees, academics,  journalists, and artists gather to share knowledge, build tools, and solve public interest problems together. It has over 1,000 individual members and 15 city agencies including the Mayor’s Office of Innovation, Dept. of Education, City Council, NY State Atty. General, Robin Hood Foundation, Consumer Union, and NY Public Library.


HIGHLIGHTS

Established Tech Companies will support the growth of start-ups in the building and hire students trained at the Digital Skills Training Center.
Convenient and Affordable Classes will prepare students for good jobs in the City’s rapidly growing tech sector. 


SPECS

Civic Hall will occupy three floors, including one floor of event space Event space will be made available to the public at reduced rates eight times / quarter for a total of 32 events annually. There will be a 25-year use restriction.

Traditional Office Spaces  will be available for companies and organizations that have grown out of the step up office space. Together, the project elements deliver a center for civic technology, a pathway to good jobs for all New Yorkers, and a platform for growing start-ups.


SPECS

Five floors will be dedicated step-up office targeting technology, creative, or innovation companies with five to 15 employees that are seeking to expand into larger space at flexible terms. Lease terms must be no shorter than six months and no longer than five years. Reduced security deposit requirements. Guaranties must be limited to 12 months’ rent and the Landlord’s contribution to tenant build-out 25-year use restriction.

FOOD HALL AND EVENT SPACE

SPECS

One floor will be dedicated Market Space, 25% of market space booths shall be reserved for new businesses and entrepreneurs. No retail space can be leased to tenants who have another location within 0.5 miles of the property or who operate more than five Manhattan locations.There is a 25-year use restriction.
